Cultivating empathy, especially in our children, is tremendously important. The world can never too much.

When I read about the recent work of Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis, one of the heroes of Sandy Hook Elementary School, who started a charity called Classes4Classes, I was excited to learn more about the work she’s doing. The purpose of Classes4Classes is to support educators and parents in cultivating greater empathy among young people. It was “founded on the belief that when we teach kids empathy and tolerance there is no room for hate.”

I’ve put together an infographic with some background on empathy and what we can do in the classroom and at home to support the development of greater empathy among young people.

If you want to find out more, visit the website of Classes4Classes, leave me a comment here, or tweet to me.
